What a FANTASTIC Movie “V for Vendetta” is!!! >>>
PantherkitteN & I went to See this MARVELLOUS Film adaptation of the CLASSIC 80’s Graphic Novel
ToniGht (Well Last NiGht Now!) & I was So DEEPLY IMPRESSED that I’ve stayed Up espeCially to write this Blog!!! >>>
I also cheCked out the Very good Official Web Site as SoON as We got baCk to My Place & I HIGHLY Recommend it!!! >>> It’s Beautifully put together (Just like the Movie!) with lots of great INfo, Images, Videos etc. etc. etc. I’ve put a link to It at the bottom of this Blog >>>
I was introduced to the Fantastic “V for Vendetta” Graphic Novel in the “Squat” I had in Wood Green, North LONDON in the Spring of 1987 by My Great Friend & Comic BoOK Mentor(& House Mate) John Kinnee the Artist “Big Squid”; back in the Wild & Crazy Days of My Youth, just after I got back from living in New York>>> This Classic & Classy tale by Alan Moore & David Lloyd was another
GROUND-BREAKER from DC COMICS & as HUGLY INFLUENCIAL in the late 80’s to ALL Us Comic Book Fanatics as it is Today!
What can I Say!!!>>> This is one of those RARE times when the Movie is Equally as AMAZING as the Original Comic Classic (See My previous Blog “SuperHeroes & The Funk” for the other Examples!!)
Well done to the WONDERFUL Wachowski Brothers For their Brilliant Screenplay, which is Beautifully Written! >>> It’s a Marvellous Script giving the Awesome, Heavy-Weight Cast something to Really get their teeth into & they ALL really go for it without exception!
& a standing ovation for the sharp, thoughtful Direction from James McTeigue (Very Nice Indeed!
Hugo Weaving is “V”, Natalie Portman is Evey, both of whom give Genuinely OUTSTANDING Performances >>> The Cast is Packed to bursting-point with WONDERFUL Acting from the MAINLY BRITISH Cast >>>
John Hurt for example is deeply Powerful & Scary as the Fascistic/Police-State Conservative Leader & Look out for Lovely Cameo Role Players such as the Wildly Intelligent (Punn Intended!~He played Oscar Wild in the Movie of the same Name!) Stephen Fry.
What I think is the Most Impressive aspect of this Movie is it’s ENORMOUS INTELLIGENCE!!!! >>> It NEVER ONCE talks down to it’s audience which is so refreshing these days but Thankfully something it seems We can all expect from the Producers & Makers of “The Matrix Trilogy” !!! & what a FABULOUS Trilogy THAT was!!!!!>>>
The wordy erudition of the Original “V for Vendetta” Graphic Novel, which was so appealing to the Adult Comic Book Intelligencia, remains completely intact (thank Goodness!) including all the Brilliant Shakespeare References>>> The Action & Dialogue is all SO WELL PACED & SO WELL PLACED!!!!
Never once is it Gratuitous or Unnecessary but remains Tasteful & Classy to the Very Last Frame! >>>
F*cking Brilliant!!!!! >>>>SiMoN the Daddy Funk >>Drummer, Percussionist, Singer, Songwriter & COMIC BOOK FAN says…..
GO & SEE THIS GREAT FILM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check it Out People, it’s Killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well see You all SoON for More Blogging fun When I’ve got a spare Moment,
Keep the LiGht Shining & Stay Super~Funky!!!
